A police dog gets the credit for catching a wanted Windsor man.

Police say that on Friday, January 27th, 2017 members of the Property Crimes Unit were on the streets actively seeking a wanted man.

Shortly after 2pm the man was spotted on foot in the area of Moy Avenue and Riverside Drive, passing through a rear yard and alley way.

The man soon disappeared from sight, and officers set up a perimeter.

K-9 Officer Rony arrived on scene and went to work with his handler.

The wanted man was soon tracked to an unattached garage in the 300 block of Pierre Avenue.

Police say that after the man ignored several commands to come out, K-9 Officer Rony was sent into the garage, which was full of numerous items providing potential hiding spots.

Rony located the hiding man, grabbed onto his arm, and pulled him out to where he could safely be arrested.

Brandon Simone, a 32-year-old man from Windsor, was arrested for a surety removal warrant, reported theft under offence, as well as for a break and enter incident reported by LaSalle Police Service.
