Windsor City Council has approved the demolition of an old Walkerville Church.
St. George’s Anglican Church and Hall at 1949 Devonshire Court closed to its congregation in late June 2015 after serious structural issues were identified. The two buildings date back to 1955 and 1921.
The Anglican Diocese of Huron attempted to sell the property, but no buyers came forward.
Council granted the demolition, with support of neighbors who live across the street from the Church, and will zone the property into three residential building lots.
