The Town of LaSalle voted to support a request by the Windsor Police Service Board to rename the bridge over the Herb Gray Parkway at St. Clair College after Senior Constable John Atkinson.
The bridge connects Windsor and LaSalle.
The highway act permits the naming of bridges and other structures on the King’s Highway in memory of fallen officers.
The right of way to the bridge falls within the town, so their permission was needed.
Atkinson was killed in the line of duty on May 5th 2006.
