Two men producing a YouTube video caused quite a commotion in LaSalle Thursday evening.

Police say that around 6:30pm, a concerned resident called police to report that they had observed a young man going into the bush area at the end of Mayfair Avenue near Sacred Heart Drive. The resident was alarmed by the fact that the young man appeared to be carrying a long gun wrapped in a blanket.

Senior Constable Harbinder Gill says that all available police resources were immediately deployed, and off duty officers were called in to assist with the incident. The area where the young man was seen entering the bush was cordoned off. A perimeter was set up to contain and identify the individual.

Around 8pm the man police were looking for was located along with another man.

Police say that both men in their early 20’s were in the bush area, making a YouTube video with some realistic looking replica firearms.

Gill says that both were educated on the dangers to public safety when involved in such activity, as well as the amount of police resources that were spent on the incident.

The two men have been released at this time; however police are continuing their investigation.
