Police arrested and charged a 20-year-old male after he crashed into a portable classroom at Vincent Massey Secondary School.

Emergency crews were called around 3:30am Sunday to the rear of the South Windsor school.

Police learned that the driver had been circling the school track when he lost control at the south end of the track, slid along the rain soaked grass, and crashed into a portable classroom.

The vehicle then burst into flames which spread to the portable.

The driver was able to escape the vehicle, and then called 911 for assistance.

Windsor Fire and Rescue attended and quickly extinguished the fire.

No injuries were sustained, however the impact resulted in heavy damage to both the portable and vehicle.

A 20 year old male from Windsor was charged with Mischief/Damage Property Exceeding $5000.
