You may remember Deema who arrived at the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society in August with severe medical issues.

Her ears were so badly infected that within days they came off, despite medical treatment attempting to save them.

Deema’s story has a happy ending though, as she is now recovered and is ready for a new home.

She is a cocker spaniel type dog, about one year old. She has lived with children and is very friendly with them; she also likes dogs although is very active so would need an active dog friend. She is a very friendly and energetic dog, and like many dogs her age, likes to chew whatever she can get her teeth on. Although missing her ears, her hearing appears to be intact.

Given the anticipated level of interest in adopting Deema, they will accept applications until close of adoption Friday, and then will select randomly from all suitable applications.

Humane Society officials say that the investigation has not yet resulted in enough evidence to identify or lay charges against the person responsible for her injuries.
