A teenager is facing charges after a three vehicle crash in the county Sunday evening.

OPP say it happened on Essex County Road 31 in Leamington around 8:30pm

They say a 69-year-old driver of a Ford truck was travelling on Essex County Road 31 near the intersection of Mersea Road 5 when it was struck by a grey GMC pickup truck that failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection.

The 69-year-old driver had to be removed from his truck by firefighters and was sent to hospital with serious injuries.

A third vehicle, a black Ford pickup truck, being driven by a 56-year-old male from Kingsville was indirectly involved in the collision. The driver and passenger of this vehicle sustained minor injuries.

The 17-year-old driver of the GMC pickup truck, a Leamington resident, has been charged with disobey stop sign, stop wrong place.

Neither he nor his passenger was injured.
