Every Friday windsoriteDOTca will let you know which beaches are safe for swimming, and those that are not.
Water samples are taken every Wednesday. The samples are sent to a public health lab in London. Testing is done Thursday and the results are given to the Health Unit by Friday.
Based on samples taken Wednesday, August 17th, 2016:
West Belle River and Mettawas Beaches are closed. Swimming not recommended at Sandpoint, Cedar Island, Colchester, and Holiday Beaches.
