Windsor Police continue to investigate an incident that happened on the city’s west side.

Police say that around 9:15pm on Monday August 1st, 2016 they were called to the 500 block of Campbell Avenue for an assault that took place in the alleyway between Campbell and McEwan Avenue.

Officers were met by a 23-year-old male who sustained facial injuries to his face. He told police that he was with a friend and they observed a 36-year-old male and a female in the alleyway near his residence who are known to him. They started to argue and the 36-year-old male struck him in the head with a brick. He then stabbed this male in the stomach and the other male and female left the scene. This male was transported to hospital with minor injuries and was treated and then arrested for aggravated assault.

A short time later police received information that a 36-year-old male was in hospital with a stab wound to the stomach.

Officers attended and learned that this was the male involved in the altercation on Campbell and that he was brought to the hospital by a 47-year-old male. Officers spoke to both parties and through the investigation found evidence that contradicted the explanations. The 47-year-old male was subsequently charged with obstruct justice.

The 36-year-old male is receiving treatment for non-life threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending against the other two parties involved.
