A Windsor woman is facing drunk driving charges after a serious crash in Front Road.

On Saturday, just after 10pm, LaSalle Police officers responded to a complaint of an impaired driver on Front Road.

As the officers were converging on the area, several 911 calls came in about a serious crash at Gary Street.

Officers arrived and found a black Mercedes had crashed through a gazebo at one residence, crossed Gary Street, struck three Canada Post mailboxes then ended up through a fence and into the backyard of another residence.

The driver, a Windsor woman, faces charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle, exceeding the legal limit of alcohol as well as assault on a peace officer for allegedly spitting on the officers at the time of her arrest.

Police say thankfully no one was hurt.

The Mercedes sustained severe damage and is beyond repair.
