Two of Essex County’s largest construction companies have merged to form a new construction group.

FORTIS Group is a new collaborative business arrangement between STC Construction Group and De Angelis Construction.

Company officials say joining forces brings together 40 years of combined complementary assets, expertise and experience, and will give both companies a competitive edge.

De Angelis Construction has built projects such as Windsor Airport’s new cargo hub, the new WFCU Centre pool, retails plazas, retirement communities and many other projects both in Windsor and Essex County, and throughout Ontario. Similarly, STC Construction built Windsor’s IKEA store, West Gate Elementary School, and many other small and large-scale developments throughout Essex County and the province.

FORTIS officials say the partnership between the companies is a true merger — both firms will be managed and guided collectively under the FORTIS corporate banner.
