Judges from the Communities in Bloom challenge will pay a visit to the Town of Amherstburg on July 29th and 30th.

Communities in Bloom is a Canadian non-profit organization committed to fostering civic pride, environmental responsibility and beautification through community involvement and the challenge of a national program, with focus on enhancing green spaces in communities.

Amherstburg will be judged on environmental action, heritage conservation, urban forestry, landscape, floral displays and tidiness.

Amherstburg will challenge against communities in the same population (9,001 to 25,000) category. The three other communities include, Bois-des-Filion QC, Niagara-on-the-Lake ON and South Huron ON.

“The sense of community and pride generated through participation of the Communities in Bloom program is an inclusive project where everyone wins”, says Mayor Aldo DiCarlo.
