Windsor Police are have made an arrest after a local woman was assaulted at a Wyandotte Street bar.

Police were called Sunday, July 3rd, around 10:45pm to Lions Head in the 7800 block of Wyandotte Street East where they learned that the 23 year old female had been assaulted by an unknown male.

Officers searched the area but didn’t locate the suspect. She told police that she was involved in an argument with an unknown male just outside the establishment which quickly escalated into a physical confrontation where punches were exchanged. She stated after the initial confrontation the male suspect continued assaulting her and pulled her across the patio by her hair. The victim sustained bruising to the face and abrasions on her legs.

Her photo had been circulating on social media since the incident.

Through investigation, police were able to identify the alleged suspect and subsequently issued a warrant for his arrest. On Monday July 25th, patrol officers located the male in the 6500 block of Wyandotte Street East and placed him under arrest without incident.

Kelly Couvillon, a 53 year old male from Windsor is charged with assault.
