Twelve new recruits from Windsor Fire & Rescue Services graduated to firefighters during a ceremony held at the Fogolar Furlan Club, Thursday evening.

Graduates Andrew Byrne, Brian Davie, Robert Dorion, Les Dorgo, Joshua Konopasky, James Moore, Nicholas Niforos, Wesley Orr, James Pukay, Jason Piper, Matthew Stewart and Bryan Traubert received their badges, epaulettes and pledged to service the citizens of Windsor.

The recruits, who were selected from around one thousand applicants, spent months training in Windsor with Windsor Fire & Rescue Services equipment under the supervision of department training officers Paul Acton and John Smith.

Fire Chief Bruce Montone congratulated the new firefighters and reminded them of the need to always exceed expectations in their future years of service.
