A Leamingon mas has been charged after a crash.

OPP say the two vehicle crash happened at Highway 3 and Essex County Road 23 (Arner Townline) in Essex on June 18th, 2016 around 10:30pm.

They report that a Jeep Cherokee was struck from behind by a Ford Taurus causing the Jeep to flip over onto its roof. The Ford then left the roadway and ended up on the shoulder in the intersection.

The driver of the Jeep sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The driver of the Ford left the scene of the crash on foot through a field only to be found a short time later attempting to hitch hike.

The driver of the Ford exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested at the scene. He also sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment.

Lucas Malott-Raffoul, age 21 of Leamington was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and exceed 80 milligrams blood alcohol content. He will appear in a Windsor court on July 20th, 2016 to answer to the charges.
