OPP were kept busy with alleged impaired drivers over the weekend.

On Saturday around 3:20am, officers were called to Road 19 and Road 1 in Leamington for a report of a vehicle in the water filled ditch.

Officers arrived on scene where a witness had assisted the male driver out of his vehicle as it filled with water from the surrounding ditch.

The driver of the vehicle allegedly exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested at the scene.

Robert Dwyer, 30, of Leamington has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and exceeding 80mg blood alcohol content.

Next, police were called to Renaud Line between Rosewood Drive and Essex County Road 42 in Lakeshore on Saturday around 12:20am for a report of a vehicle in the ditch.

Officers arrived on scene and arrested the driver of the vehicle who they allege exhibited signs of impairment.

Shawn Fuerth, 37, of Lakeshore was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and failure to provide a breath sample.

Then, on Sunday evening, officers observed a black Ford travelling southbound on Essex County Road 45 in Kingsville. Police say the vehicle was driving erratically and slower than the posted speed limit.

The vehicle was stopped on Essex County Road 20 near Oxford Avenue. The driver of the vehicle allegedly exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested at the scene.

Ner Shee, 29, of Kingsville was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and exceeding 80mg blood alcohol content.

Lastly, police were called to a report of a single vehicle crash at the intersection of East Pike Creek Road and Little Baseline Road in Lakeshore on Sunday around 10:25pm.

A blue Jeep was travelling southbound on East Pike Creek Road when it proceeded through a stop sign without stopping and crashed into a set of trees and ended up in backyard.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle allegedly exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested at the scene.

Angela Garrick, 39, of LaSalle was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and exceeding 80mg blood alcohol content.
