Abars located at the foot of Lauzon Road on Riverside Drive East will see the wrecking ball.
The Planning, Heritage and Economic Development Standing Committee had voted to have the building designated as heritage building, but city council voted not to, and granted the permit to demolish the building.
The property owners plan to green the space and place decorative fencing along Riverside Drive. A historical plaque will also be placed on site.
Property owners say all the could be completed in 90 days.
