Town Of Essex Experiencing Technical Issues Related To Sunday’s Power Outage

The Town of Essex says that Pplans are in place to ensure that essential services continue to be provided by the town while the technical issues related to Sunday’s storm are being resolved.

Computer servers failed Monday at about 5pm, affecting email delivery to Council and staff from both internal and external sources. Emailed messages are being held and will be released when systems are back online.

The main phone numbers associated with Town of Essex facilities are being redirected to cell phones. Due to the reduced phone service, customers may experience busy signals during working hours. After-hours emergency phone service remains unaffected.

Internet access continues to be available at facilities equipped with public Wi-Fi. Faxes are still online. Urgent matters may be faxed to 519-776-8811.

“The Town of Essex thanks residents and customers for their patience and understanding,” says Donna Hunter, Acting Chief Administrative Officer. “We hope to have systems up and running as soon as possible.
