Submissions are now being accepted for the 1st annual Canada South Songwriting Contest in conjunction with the Kingsville Folk Music Festival.

“We’re excited to bring this new showcasing event to the 3rd annual Kingsville Folk Music Festival!” said Producer Michele Law. Co-Producer John Law added, “There are some really talented songwriters in our region and beyond. This contest gives these writers the opportunity to showcase their craft, be judged by their peers and an opportunity to perform at the festival!”

Writer-performers must be over the age of 18 and songs can not exceed five minutes each. Entries will be accepted until June 30th, 2016.

Five finalists will be selected to perform in the contest at the Kingsville Folk Music Festival on Saturday, August 13th, 2016.

One overall winner will receive a $250 prize, plus other prizes TBA, and be invited to perform their winning song onstage later in the festival.
