Demolition Starting Soon For Former Downtown Theatre

A downtown landmark is set to meet the wrecking ball.
Known as The Vanity Theater when it first opened in 1937it under went several name changes in the past two decades and was last known as The Blind Dog before a fire on November 9th, 2011 shut it down for good. In February 2013, part of the front of the building crashed down onto the sidewalk.
On Friday demolition crews began setting up to tear what is left of the building down. It is unknown what will fill the space once the building is cleared.
