Hello time traveller!!
This article is 2901 days old.
The information listed below is likely outdated and has been preserved for archival purposes.

Abars located at the foot of Lauzon Road on Riverside Drive East could have a date with the wrecking ball soon.

The long time popular bar closed at the end of November after a dispute with the property owner, the Canadian Transit Company.

Since then the property has been boarded up and on April 15th, the owner applied for a demolition permit.

The property is listed, but not designated on the heritage register, so demolition has to be approved by Council, after it is review by the heritage part of the Planning, Heritage and Economic Development Standing Committee.

Council has the option either to allow the demolition or to initiate full designation.

All must be done by June 15th.
