A Windsor man has been arrested after an assault of a Transit Windsor bus driver.

Police say it happened Wednesday night around 10:40pm in the area of Lauzon Road and Little River Road.

They say that the male suspect got onto the bus and was allegedly being disorderly and causing a disturbance. The bus driver stopped the bus and asked the suspect to leave which lead to a verbal altercation. The suspect then allegedly assaulted the bus driver and left the scene.

The driver sustained serious facial injuries and was subsequently transported to hospital for treatment.

Through the invesigation officers received information and were able to identify the suspect. On Thursday January 21, 2016 at approximately 9am police attended his residence and he was arrested without incident.

A 21-year-old male of Windsor will be charged with assault causing bodily harm.
