A U.S citizen wanted for sex related crimes against children in Michigan and Wisconsin, was arrested Saturday by U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officers working at the Detroit Windsor Tunnel after he was refused entry into Canada by Canada Border Services Agency.

Checks of national databases along with finger prints confirmed the 33-year-old man was a positive match to records for possession and transportation of child pornography.

“U.S. Customs and Border Protection routinely collaborates with various law enforcement agencies to reduce criminal activity in the U.S. said John Nowak, Acting CBP Port Director, Port of Detroit. “Through this type of cross-border cooperation we are better able to enhance security at our mutual border and protect the citizens in our own respective communities.”

CBP officers arrested the man and turned him over to Agents from Homeland Security Investigations.
