The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society is concerned after a cat was found close to midnight Saturday left in a broken carrier wrapped in a garbage bag near the their front door.

The cat who they have named Glad was found by an employee who was driving by and noticed something odd.  They say otherwise he may have been out there all night.

They say they are grateful that Glad’s person left him at their door where he would be found, but disappointed that it was done after hours, leaving him in the freezing cold for hours.

They stress the responsible step to is contact them and make arrangements to surrender pets.   They do ask owners for a surrender fee to support their animal’s care, it will be waived if it’s a hardship, as an animal will never be turned away because the owner is unable to pay.
