Winter Fest 2015 takes place this Saturday from 11am to 6pm in downtown Windsor.

Winter Fest features Santa’s Forest and free Photo Booth, and samplings of Essex Pelee Island County’s award-winning wines at the Wine Tastings to be held between 11am and 6pm at the Windsor Star News Cafe. Be sure to check out Windsor Light Music Theatre’s carollers, dressed in period costume, at the intersection of Ouellette and Park Street.

The Holiday Parade starts at 3pm on Ouellette and Giles Boulevard and runs north on Ouellette to Pitt Street. Grand marshaling the Parade this year is hometown boxing hero, Olympian and Pan Am Gold Medalist, Mary Spencer. Also joining us is Mayor Drew Dilkens; Percy Hatfied, MPP – Windsor-Tecumseh; Lisa Gretzky, MPP – Windsor-West; Councillor Rino Bortolin, Ward 3; Councillor John Elliott, Ward 2; Councillor Fred Francis, Ward 1; Councillor Ed Sleiman, Ward 5; and Councillor Jo-Anne Gignac, Ward 6.

Other Parade highlights include marching bands, giant inflatables, Elvis Rock’n Sleigh Ride, dance troupes, and a myriad of themed characters including princesses, comic characters and, of course, Santa himself.
