Windsor malls are ready for Black Friday and are encouraging locals to stay in the area.

Black Friday hits Windsor this Friday and while it may be an American holiday, local malls will be having not only big sales but giveaways too.

Karen Niforos, Marketing Director at Devonshire Mall says with so many new options, Windsorites should stay local this year.

“I believe our shoppers should stay on this side of the border this Black Friday because of the great store discounts that our Devonshire Mall retailers will be providing as well as the retail selection that we offer including our newest stores;  Forever 21 Red, Sephora, Michael Hill, DAVIDs Tea and Purdys Chocolatier,” said Niforos. “We’ve been holding Black Friday promotions for a few years now and have seen strong retailer participation and shopper excitement. I think our customers are happy to stay in Windsor and get their holiday shopping started with the great deals here.”

Devonshire is not the only mall participating in the holiday, Marissa Goze, Marketing & Specialty Leasing Coordinator at Tecumseh Mall says staying local this year will save customers not only money, but time as well.

“There are plenty of advantages besides having to avoid the high exchange rate that is currently in the market, and avoiding potential hassles and long line-ups at the border. With that being said, staying in Windsor for Black Friday and for the rest of the holiday shopping season for that matter, potentially could save people time and money. Here at Tecumseh Mall, we always try to create a great and unique shopping experience for our customers, and this holiday is no exception.”

Goze says although Black Friday is for one day, their giveaway will be available all month long.

“There’s a lot of exciting things happening at Tecumseh Mall. We have great contests and giveaways for customers and are giving them great chances to win and have extra spending power for this holiday season. This is the first time that the Big Screen TV Giveaway is extended until the end of December, in hopes that it will encourage shoppers to come do their holiday shopping at Tecumseh Mall, and provide more opportunity for people to be a part of the fun in winning the big screen TV.”

Tecumseh Mall will be introducing Tinsel the Tecumseh Mall Holiday Elf this year. Where they will be posting pictures throughout the week of November 27th of the elf exploring the mall on their Facebook page.  There will be prizes given to those who guess Tinsels whereabouts correctly.

Devonshire Mall’s doors open at 6am, stores will open at 7am and will stay open until 10pm.  Tecumseh Mall’s doors open at 8am and stay open till 9pm.
