Retirement Home Evacuated After Smoke Smell

Fire and emergency crews were called to the Seasons Retirement Home in Amherstburg around 3:15pm for a possible fire.

Residents of the home were evacuated while officials investigated.

After about 20 minutes, fire crews could not find any fire, but the smell of smoke was in the air.

Two residents were treated at scene by EMS for non fire related medical issues.

No cause could be found for activation of fire alarm system.

Residents starting to return to their units just before 4pm.
