Police are looking for information on a suspect who pepper sprayed several people at the downtown Food Basics store.

Emergency crews were called to the store in the 800 block of Goyeau Street around 5:30pm Thursday.

Windsor Fire and EMS cleared out the store and treated victims.

Police learned there was an altercation between a 28 year old male victim and two suspects in the foyer of the store.

One of the suspects sprayed a noxious substance from a canister at the victim and left the store, running toward Goyeau Street.

Two other patrons were inadvertently hit by the spray and two witnesses that tried to intervene were indirectly affected by the spray. All were treated by EMS and released.

Police say the victim is not being cooperative with the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Windsor Police at 519-255-6700 ext. 4305, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 519-258-8477 (TIPS), or online at
