John Gallagher will be returned home to Canada on Friday and will travel down the Highway of heroes.

Gallagher was fighting the Islamic State group in Syria was killed in a suicide attack on November 4th.

The repatriation will leave the Mackinnon & Bowes Funeral Home in Toronto at noon Friday and head to the 401.

Canadians are encouraged to come out and welcome John Gallagher home, by lining the bridges for a Highway of Heroes ceremony between Toronto and Blenheim.

Once at Blenheim they will be exiting on Hwy 40 and heading south to Blenheim on Communication Road, to Blenheim. They will turn right on Talbot Road, then left on Catherine and drive by the Royal Canadian Legion. They will then head to Stanley to the Blenheim Community Funeral Home.

Funeral arrangements have yet to be made public.

At a later date there will be a public ceremony in Toronto.
