An overnight house explosion on Francois Street is under investigation.

The call came into firefighters just after midnight, and when they arrived on the scene at 1452 Francois they found smoke and flames coming from the house.

It took about an hour to bring it under control, but they remained at the scene hours later putting out hot spots.

Houses on either side were also damaged. Fire officials say the neighboring house at 1456 Francois suffered $110,000 in damages, while another neighboring house suffered $5,000 in heat damage.

The Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office is on the scene investigating. It’s still unclear what caused the explosion.

No injuries were reported.
