A Windsor man has been arrested after allegedly stealing beef jerky.

Police say around 9pm on Thursday October 22nd, 2015 the suspect was observed concealing beef jerky in his clothing at the Mac’s Milk store located in the 2600 block of Jefferson.

An employee working at the time asked the suspect to pay for the beef jerky. The suspect proceeded to leave the store without paying. The employee approached the suspect and was able to retrieve the stolen items. The suspect then punched the employee in the mouth, causing a laceration to his lower lip. The employee went back into the store to call police.

The suspect re-entered the store and removed a box of beef jerky from the front counter and again left the store.

A citizen helped the employee get the box back from the suspect. A brief struggle ensued and the store employee was assaulted a second time. It was discovered that although the box was recovered, some of the beef jerky was still missing.

Police were called the officers at the store checked out security video of the incident.

The suspect was located in the 2700 block of Jefferson, and he was arrested without incident. Police recovered 5 packages of beef jerky that were in his possession.

Jordan Murray, 21 years of age of Windsor is charged with robbery and failing to comply with a condition of undertaking.
