Imagine this. You’ve been living with your paw-mily for 10 years then, one day they decide they don’t want you anymore. You’re dumped somewhere you’ve never been and left to fend for yourself. Even though you are fortunate enough to find a lady who makes sure you are fed, the neighbourhood kids just want to use you for target practice. The kids aren’t the only mean ones though. The parents try to run you over with their car and let their dogs chase you… just for kicks.

This was Arthur’s reality but, there’s more.

After being fixed, given his shots and ear-tipped Arthur was, unfortunately, put back into the same situation. Without proper care he became severely underweight, developed an upper respiratory infection and developed worms which caused constant diarrhea. With nowhere else to turn, his caregiver contacted Second Chance Animal Rescue hoping they would provide a second chance for this handsome and sweet senior. Now in their care, Arthur’s life is a whole lot better but, he still needs to find his fur-ever home. And, as we knew he would be, Arthur is a loving, grateful cat who is actually starting to play like cats are supposed to!

We do need to be up front with you though. Arthur has periodontal disease and must have his teeth cleaned to prevent other possible diseases because, if left untreated, it can cause kidney, heart, and other organ problems that can considerably shorten a cat’s life span. But, this shouldn’t deter you from making this adorable guy part of your paw-mily though because he’s a doll!

Second Chance Animal Rescue is a non-profit rescue that provides hope and a second chance for animals who have gone through hardships like Arthur has. If you’re thinking about adding a fur-baby to your paw-mily, please take a moment to visit Arthur at Pet Valu (Roundhouse Centre) or phone (226) 783-0826 for more info.
