Police have arrested a Windsor teen after an East Riverside home was broken into in the middle of the night, Monday.

Officers were called to the 11800 block of Boulder Crescent around 4:30am after two suspects allegedly entered a home through a garage door that was left partially open.

Police say the homeowner confronted the suspects in the living room and the suspects quickly exited the house.

The homeowner chased after the young male suspect who was riding a bicycle. The suspect got away.

Officers arrived in the area and were met by a Tecumseh OPP Sergeant who came upon the young male suspect. Windsor Police placed the teen under arrest.

Upon searching the suspect, police say officers located a number of items which were believed to have been stolen. A number of these items were identified and returned to the homeowner.

Investigators from the Windsor Police Target Base Unit continued to investigate the origin of the property found in the suspects possession. Investigators were able to link the male suspect to other break and enters and thefts from vehicles in the area.

A 17-year-old male from Windsor is charged with 4 counts of Break and Enter, 6 counts of Possession of Stolen Property and 2 counts of Theft.
