Drouillard Place is marking its 35th anniversary with a gala celebration taking place this Friday, September 18th, 2015 at the Water’s Edge Event Centre.

During the early seventies, the East Windsor Citizen’s Committee and Holy Rosary Church believed that if they were to make a difference in the area, an organization with a physical presence was necessary to consolidate resources and to begin to develop services based on the needs expressed by both the residents and businesses of the area. Thus Drouillard Place came into being and it was incorporated in October of 1979.

Today Drouillard Place operates a myriad of programs and services at three sites including the Ontario Early Years Centre, Parent Education & Support Program, After School Program (Ages 5-11), Drouillard Place Teen Program, Summer Youth Programs, and the Grandview Early Years & After School & Teen Program.

They also offer many other services to the community including an emergency food bank and social work programs.

“It is fitting that we have our celebration at the former Holy Rosary Church (now known as the Water’s Edge Event Centre) as it was Pastor Fr. Joe Gosselin, Fr. Roland Nadeau and Peter Beauregard who had the initial idea to establish what became known as Drouillard Place and Fr. Joe will be in attendance at our gala celebration,” says Marina Clemens, Executive Director, Drouillard Place.

The gala celebrations will feature a gourmet dinner, dancing, a silent auction and a raffle.

Tickets are $90 each and are available at Drouillard Place.
