Dr. David Suzuki will be making several stops in the area in the next few days.

On Sunday, September 13th, you are invited to meet Dr. Suzuki at Malden Park from 1:30pm to 2pm to “raise some noise” about the proposed big box development.

Later Sunday, is an Evening with Dr. David Suzuki from 7pm to 9pm at the Ciociaro Club. For a suggested donation of $5, a discussion will be had on ‘what kind of Canada do you want.’

Monday morning, Dr. Suzuki will meet with students at the University of Windsor in the Ambassador Auditorium at the CAW Student Centre from 9am to 10:30am. Topics will include how youth action can change the world, the importance of youth voting this federal election and how this election will be a major decision maker for the future of Canada.

Finally he will be at the Hillman Marsh Conservation Area from noon until 1:30pm.

Dr. Suzuki will hear from Dr. Kate Stammler, ERCA’s Water Quality Scientist, Mallory Jutzi and Ryan Smith from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, and Henry Denotter, Past President of the Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association about efforts to stem the flow of phosphorus into Lake Erie. Also on the agenda is Lisa Jeffery, a teacher at Leamington District High School who organized the well-attended Blue-Green Algae Summit this past spring and now also represents the Blue Dot Leamington initiative.
