OPP have arrested a teenager after vehicles were broke into recently in Tecumseh.

Officers were called to the area of Arbour Street in Tecumseh for a report of a suspect attempting to steal from vehicles.

Officers arrived on scene and with assistance from a community member, located a male and arrested him.

A 17 year old male from Windsor was charged with Theft Under $5000. He will appear in a Windsor court at a later date to answer to the charge.

The OPP would like to remind the public that thefts from vehicles are crimes of opportunity. Ensure that your doors are locked and valuables are out of sight or completely out of your vehicle.

They say if your vehicle is locked, the suspect is likely to walk onto the next vehicle that isn’t locked. Park in a well-lit area and report any suspicious activity you see in your community.
