Monday evening, City Council voted to move forward with spending $78,000 for an environmental assessment for the proposed pedestrian tunnel under Riverside Drive.

The city has set aside a total of $2.75 million for the project, but Councillor Irek Kusmierczyk put forward a motion to stop the project saying the funding could be better used to repair tennis courts, water fountains and basic park amenities.

Council voted 6 to 5 to continue with the study. Do you want to see a pedestrian tunnel under Riverside Drive? Vote below.
