A Windsor man is facing charges after a brief standoff Thursday evening.

Around 6pm police were called to the Towne & Country Motel n the 2800 block of Howard Avenue for a possible stolen vehicle in the parking lot.

Officers arrived and found that the licence plates on the vehicle were allegedly stolen.

While they were investigating a male approached the officers enquiring about the investigation into his vehicle. Officers attempted to arrest the male suspect but he escaped their grasp and ran into a room and closed the door behind him. During the foot pursuit the male allegedly advised that he was in possession of a firearm.

Patrol and Emergency Service Units were called into the area and contact was made with the male. The male exited the building and was arrested without further incident.

Jacob Brode, a 29 year old male from Windsor is charged possession of stole property and escape lawful custody of a peace officer.
