Windsor Police continue to investigate a serious crash that claimed the life of a 66-year-old man.

Police, EMS and several fire units were all called to E.C. Row around 11pm Tuesday, where an Infiniti sedan and a motorcycle had collided.

Emergency crews on scene reported one person was vital signs absent, and police later confirmed the person had passed away.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that both vehicles were travelling on E.C. Row in the Westbound curb lane approaching the Jefferson overpass. The 2007 Infinity struck the motorcycle from behind causing the victim to be thrown from the vehicle.

The 22 year old driver of the Infinity was arrested at the scene and is expected to appear in court today facing the following charges: Dangerous Operation Of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death, Criminal Negligence Causing Death.

Police have received information that indicated that the suspect may have been driving distracted at the time of the impact. Police are also investigating whether or not alcohol was a factor.

The E.C. Row Expressway was closed from the time of the accident until just before 4pm Wednesday while collision reconstruction specialists conducted their investigation.

Police are asking any additional witnesses to come forward.
