Tools police have seized as evidence

LaSalle Police are thanking an alert resident for helping them bust two crooks.

Police say that received a call from a resident in the Todd Lane and Canada Street area around 3:30am. The resident told police that he had observed a couple of young males walking slowly down the street and looking at various parked cars. The two got into a PT Cruiser and then left the area.

Police attended but were unable to find them.  They stayed in the area and continued checking all the side streets and dead-end streets. A half hour later the officers found the PT Cruiser on Tenth Street and Lombardy.

Several officers who were in the area converged on the car and its occupants.

They say that based on the investigation and the stolen goods in possession of the two males in the car, officers were certain that these were the same males who had been reported earlier.

One of the males is a 21-year-old resident of Woodslee, and the other is a young person who resides in Windsor. Together the two face a total of seven charges including theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of break-in instruments, and one count of fail to comply with recognizance.

The items recovered include four sunglasses, an after market car stereo deck, set of screw drivers, portable Bluetooth speaker, two hands free Bluetooth phone devices and loose change.

If you have lost any of the above items and can prove it belongs to you, such as with a receipt, detailed description, serial number or other means, you are asked to call LaSalle Police at 519-969-5210.
