Goodwill Industries is opening a sixth Attended Donation Centre in Essex County on Saturday, July 4th.

The new donation centre will open at 216 Talbot Street South in Essex will employee three.  Newly hired employees will accept donations of gently used clothing, furniture and other items like books (including textbooks), toys and dishes, simultaneously diverting waste from landfills and giving jobs to those who are unemployed or who have barriers to employment.

“Since our first Essex County attended donation centre opened less than two years ago, residents have enthusiastically connected with our mission to change lives through the power of work,” says Chris Chartrand, Director of Marketing and Fund Development for Goodwill Industries – Essex Kent Lambton. “If you have items in good condition, don’t throw them away. Drop them off at our donation centres to help create jobs. Donate today. Change someone’s tomorrow.”

With the opening of this location, Goodwill will have six attended donation centres and one retail store in Windsor-Essex, and employ approximately 65 local residents.

The Attended Donation Centre’s hours of operation will be Monday to Friday from 9am to 9pm,  Saturday from 9am to 6pm and Sunday from 10am to 5pm.
