Three youths have been charged after boarded up homes were set on fire Sunday.

Police say that around 6:30pm Sunday they were called to the area of Felix Avenue and Edison Street for a break and enter in progress. Police were told that two young males and a young female were seen breaking into a vacant residence in the 800 block of Felix.

The suspects allegedly gained entry by removing a piece of plywood that was covering the door. All parties were seen exiting the house and leaving the scene southbound.

When police arrived they found smoke billowing from the residence and fire crews were called. When Windsor Fire arrived they found a second fire at another vacant residence in the 800 block of Felix Avenue.

Police located the three suspects matching the description in the area of College Avenue and Brock Street and they were placed under arrest. One of the males was in possession of two lighters which were seized. Windsor Fire investigated both fires and determined that they were intentionally set.

All three were later released to their parents and face charges.

A 14-year-old male from Windsor faces two counts of arson cause property damage, two counts of break and enter and possess incendiary device for arson.

A 13-year-old male from Windsor and a 12-year-old female from LaSalle face two counts of arson cause property Damage and two counts of break and enter each,
