Science Rendezvous, Canada’s largest public science festival takes over the University of Windsor this Saturday.

From the serious to the quirky, free events will take place in a variety of outdoor and indoor venues across Canada, engaging adults, families and youth in a day of fun and exploration.

Over 20 activities are planned with each one highlighting a different facet of scientific knowledge and fun. Hands-on displays from students, staff, and professors at the University, as well as entries by local high‐school students and clubs will appeal to a variety of interests. See robots built by high school teams! Isolate your own DNA! Other events include Lego windmills, neuroscience and brain health display, 3D printing, astronomy activities and renewable energy.

The Chemistry Magic Show takes place at 11am and the Phunky Physics Show at 1pm.

“People of all ages are invited to engage with science by observing, doing or creating”, said Chitra Rangan, a professor at the University of Windsor and the Faculty Advisor for the student-run Science Rendezvous Windsor Organizing Committee. “Folks can discover cutting‐edge cancer research, enjoy art based on science, watch physics demonstrations, and enjoy the Chemistry Magic Show ‐ there is something for everyone!”

It runs from 10am to 4pm on the University of Windsor campus in the Ambassador Auditorium, located inside of the CAW Student Centre.
