The deadline to apply to a summer jobs program has been extended a week because of a lack of applications.

The program run by New Beginnings provides 240 youth with training and a full time summer job in a placement that interests them.

The program provides several days of training and certifications in CPR, First Aid and Health and Safety before placing the youth with one of over 100 different employers around Windsor. Through the program, youth are able to gain certifications and work experience which allows them to grow their resumes and skill sets to become more employable in the future.

To be eligible all youth must be 15-18 years old and reside in one of the following postal codes: N9A, N9B, N9C, N8Y, N8R, N8T (East of Lauzon).

You have until 5pm on may 1st to apply. Applications to the program are available in high school guidance offices or at 1049 Janette Avenue.
