A Windsor man is facing 86 charges after an investigation by the Internet Child Exploitation unit.

Police say it all began in May of 2013 when the Windsor Police ICE Unit commenced an investigation in relation to child pornography. On June 4th, 2014 members of the ICE Unit arrested a 48-year-old suspect.  A search warrant was executed in relation to the investigation on June 5th, 2014 at a residence in the 2800 block of Turner Road, where officers seized evidence from the residence.

At the time of his arrest the suspect was charged with one count of possession of child pornography and one count of accessing child pornography.

Investigators continued with their investigation which included examining photos, videos and chat messaging data. Between July and August 2014 an additional 21 charges were laid against the suspect.

In August 2014 Windsor Police ICE members identified a 14-year-old victim who resides in Dallas Texas. The ICE unit notified authorities in Dallas and the victim was located and interviewed by police in relation to the investigation.

Police have continued with their investigation and on April 22nd, 2015 an additional 63 charges were laid, bringing the total number of charges to 86.

Investigators have determined that there are an additional 22 victims, 16 of which are between 10 and 16 years of age.   21 of the victims are female and one is male.

Police say they are satisfied that the victims are located internationally and none are from this area. Police are continuing with the investigation and are attempting to identify the victims.

The suspect has remained in custody since the time of his arrest in June of 2014.

Daniel Nickolson, 48 years of age faces 20 counts of extortion, 25 counts of luring, 15 counts of breaching an order of prohibition, 7 counts of distribute child pornography, 4 counts of making sexually explicit material available to a child, 4 counts of access child pornography, 3 counts of possession of child pornography, 3 counts of invitation to sexual touching, 2 counts of agreement or arrangement for sexual offence against child, 2 counts of uttering threats and 1 count of making child pornography.
