Windsor Police have charged a man with fraud after he allegedly posed as a certified electrician.

Police say a victim came into police headquarters back and January and stated that they wanted to report an alleged fraud that took place. The victim told police that her mother responded to ad on Kijiji and hired a male who represented himself as a certified electrical contractor in April of 2013.

Police say the victim said little work was done and most of the work was never completed. The Windsor Police Fraud Unit worked in conjunction with the Electrical Safety Authority to determine that the male didn’t have the proper electrical credentials. Police investigated three other similar allegations from other victims.

Roberto Spada, 42, is charged with 3 counts of Fraud Under $5000 and 1 count of Fraud Over $5000.
