The 7-Eleven store as seen in Google Earth

Last updated: Sunday March 15th, 11:20am

Police are looking for the perpetrators after two people were shot near the 7-Eleven convenience store near Parent and Wyandotte.

Paramedics, firefighters and police rushed to the scene around 11pm Saturday to find two people with gun shot wounds.

One patient, in his 20s, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries from a bullet. A second patient, in his 30s, was also taken to hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

Several windsoriteDOTca readers said police blocked off a large area around the scene, even closing Wyandotte Street for some time while they conducted a thorough search of the area for suspects.

Police say the two victims were walking through the parking lot just east of Langlois Avenue and south of Wyandotte Street East when a dark coloured vehicle pulled in front of them. Two male suspects exited the vehicle and got into a verbal confrontation with the victims. The confrontation escalated and they began shooting at the victims. Police say it appears that the suspects are familiar with the victims.

The suspects are described as a white male, with olive skin, 40’s, with a full beard and a white male, with olive skin, mid 20’s, and clean shaven.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Windsor Police at 519-255-6700 ext. 4830, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 519-258-8477 (TIPS).
