A Windsor man has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing Friday night.

Police say that around 11:30pm they were called to an apartment in a building in the 800 block of Ottawa Street.

When they arrived they found a female laying by the entrance of the building and a male standing by her.

Police say that a second female was inside an apartment with serious injuries resulting from multiple stab wounds.

Both females were transported to hospital to receive treatment for their injuries.

The male was arrested on scene without further incident.  A knife was recovered at the scene and police say that all parties are known to each other.

It is alleged that there was an argument with the male and one of the female’s that escalated into physical violence and the female was subsequently stabbed.  It is also alleged that the male then struck the other female.

The Female with the stab wounds remains at hospital in ICU and is listed in serious condition.

Saturday afternoon police said that 58-year-old Kenneth Sparks has been charged with attempted murder, assault with a weapon and possession of a controlled substance.
