Chatham-Kent police have charged a man and woman following a traffic stop in Chatham.

Police say that around 8:30pm Sunday evening, pulled over a vehicle after it didn’t stop at a stop sign on Baldoon Road near Partridge Crescent.

As he activated his emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop he observed a clear plastic bag being thrown out the driver’s window.

The officer approached the vehicle as it pulled over and retrieved the bag from the roadway which contained marijuana.

Through investigation, the officer further learned that the man was currently bound by conditions not to possess drugs or drug paraphernalia.

Anthony Romano, 25 years, of Pecanwood Drive in Kingsville was charged with drug possession and two counts of failing to comply. He was released with conditions pending a future court date of April 9th, 2015.

Vanessa Eltervoog, 22 years, of Francis Avenue in Blenheim was charged with drug possession. She was released with conditions pending a future court date of April 16, 2015.
