Chatham-Kent OPP charged a Windsor man after he allegedly attempted to pass a police vehicle during Sunday’s snow storm.

Police say their officers took a proactive approach during the storm by conducting continual traffic slowdowns, in an attempt to keep motorists safe and traveling at an appropriate speed for the deteriorating weather and road conditions.

While one officer was conducting a slowdown, he observed a Buick attempting to pass his police vehicle. The officer obtained a speed reading on the vehicle, which exceeded the posted speed limit of 100 km/hr.

Ryan Turgeon, 29, was charged with careless driving.
